Chucky Trading Co is an American Folk-Rock duo from New York and Nashville, bringing modern vibes to the classic Laurel Canyon sounds of the 1970s. Brother and sister CS Taber and Patricia “Danger” Taber have been combining traditional and modern music since their teens, and have now returned to their roots with CTC.

The first CTC album (2021) contains 15 heartfelt songs that explore love, life, and human nature. From the opening riff of Grace through the rattlesnake shake of the tambourine on Tumbleweeds, Chucky Trading Co delivers soulful arrangements, magical hooks, and images that touch your core. A second album, A Sky of Hopes, is scheduled for release in 2025.
 
CS and Danger bring to their music a wide range of experiences and influences. From a childhood immersed in the spirits and rhythms of Central and West Africa to their coming of age in the rich acoustic traditions of Appalachia, the siblings play to a broad tapestry of musical textures. Their songs combine the deceptive simplicity of folk, rock, and pop styles with the emotional depth and power of counterculture poets from the 60s to the present. With their songs, CS and Danger sketch stories and images on themes both traditional and modern. Unhinged love (“Psychopath Cool”), the tragic limits of free will (“In the Dark”), mismatched hearts (“Sleepwalking through History”), questions of faith and death (“Peace With the Devil”) all weave together in their debut album. A Sky of Hopes continues this exploration of timeless themes, including human insignificance (“High Desert Flowers”), the joy of triviality (“Clever Girl”), unhappiness (“Happy”), and triumph over abuse (“Charly’s Alone”).

CS Taber is a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and singer, who is also an award-winning scholar and author. He currently lives in NY with his wife, Sue.

Patricia “Danger” Taber is an artist, designer, and singer. Patricia has worked in professional theater, was a costume designer for Nashville Children’s Theater, and sings a wide range of styles, including folk, pop, rock, and cabaret. She lives in Nashville with her husband, Dan, and their dog, Posie.
